Now by holidays I mean your regular holidays not christmas. OK here's the question, do you lose weight, or gain it while your away from the Hall on holidays?? I definately lose weight. I work out even harder when i'm on shift cuz of the massive feeds we eat and on holidays I eat better and definatley smaller portions. There has been a change in attitude a bit since i started on my job were everything was covered with gravy. Now we eat better but still LOTS!!! And with so many good cooks around it makes it tough watch what you eat or how much!!!!! First day back after holidays the station gear fits quite nicely for me!!!.Whats the saying a pound for every year on the job???....or is it 2 pounds??..............Howz abouts yoos guys........BC........
YOU CAN TAKE AS MUCH AS YOU WANT BUT YOU EAT WHAT YOU TAKE!!!!....

I gained 20 lbs after the first year and a half. From 196 to 215 mind you I'm 6'4. The big meals often served late in the evening don't help but yes they are good. I might lose a bit when I'm away but I mostly stay the same.

I've gained a little bit of weight at work since I was hired by my department...probably 30 pounds or so
I will lose a bit when I'm on holidays typically, just because like everyone has mentioned, a few weeks without those massive firehall feeds makes a difference.
The Mrs. and I have been traveling south for our vacations for the last few years though, and have been staying at all inclusives...so I have more or less maintained my weight the last few years...all those all you can eat lunch and supper buffets are pretty close to eating in the firehall. Plus there's the open bars;)

Great thread, it's always fun at my annual department physical to be listed as 'obese' by the doctor, based on my BMI (33).
My weight doesn't really fluctuate more than a couple of pounds, and is still the same as my senior year of college football.
Of course though, I don't have much else to do in my freetime, except lift weights, ski, rollerblade, or anything else that qualifies as a playtime activity.
The perils of not being married; it really is a tough life!

I hadnt gained anything noticable since being hired.I was 206 with a BF of around 18%.
Quit smoking..... add 20 pounds and 10% BF.Its way harder to shift now than it was before.
