Jeffrey Randall Wagner 1987-2006

Video (http://youtube.com/watch?v=trngWD6NJNw)
Our son Jeff would have been 20 in Jan 2007. He was killed in a motor vehicle accident Oct 26,2006. He volunteered with the Chester Nova Scotia fire dept. This was the video his girl Emma made and presented at his memorial arranged by the Fire Dept. Jeff was a sensitive and caring son. He was always a hard worker and good friend. They both love Chester and really blossomed here. Jeff joined the fire dept and eagerly took all courses offered. Every time the pager went off he came flying by us almost tripping down the stairs. That's where his girl Emma and her mom Terri got to know him better after meeting at Forest Heights High school.Jeff was a student at NSCC where he was taking the Dexter's Heavy Equipment program. He's wearing the black helmet in the training photos. Antigonish Fire fighters were on the scene of his accident. These brave men and women give their time taking courses, training for fires and accidents and we are proud our son belonged to this fine brotherhood. Emma and Jeff joined the Search and Rescue. They had a lot of common interests and I know he was very happy.
He and Dan have both worked at Collicut Mill and Target Sawing and Drilling. Jeff's desire was to work with heavy equipment which led him to the Dexter Institute at Nova Scotia Community College in Dartmouth. A very long drive each way but he was up early and on his way every day. Jeff was an animal lover. Our family had a cat, dog, and budgies but Jeff wanted hamsters, rabbits and guinea pigs too. He even tried to persuade us to get a goat while living in a subdivision in Timberlea. His last act was traveling many kilometers to get a German Shepard.
Jeff was an organ donor and we hope that someone elses life is made better because of him.
His grandfather Josh Lucas is a member of the Legion. He moved here in 2005 to be with our small family. Jeff's brother Dan and love Courtney had a son Nov 20,2006. Isaac Daniel Wagner 6 lbs. 8 oz. Jeff's Mom and Dad, Carla and Steven thank all of you for being in his life. He was a wonderful boy who grew to be a great man.

A bio I found for Jeff - quite the video. Shine your light gives me the chills whenever I hear it... needless to say in a dedication like this.

RIP Jeff.

I wouldn't say by that bio that he was responding to a call......it says that his accident happened in Antigonish, but he was a volunteer with Chester FD......he would have been responding from about 2 hours or better away.

Sad thing either way, it's the first that I've heard anything about it. :(

Sad news...always terrible to see something like that happen to someone so young! Thoughts and best wishes with his family and friends.

What a touching tribute, brought a tear or two to my eyes. Excellent job Emma, it must have been incredibly difficult putting that together.

you're right, and like the bio says, he was on his way up here to pick up a puppy (and its about 3-3.5 hrs away)... he lost control of his truck at the worst section of road we have in our district and hit a car.

I was there with you Brother... R.I.P. Jeff.

After the loss of my son, who was a Volunteer Fire Fighter with the Chester Nova Scotia Dept, I joined the department myself. After studying, taking courses and serving for the past 16 months I was made 2nd Lieutenant. I think Jeff would be as proud of my efforts as I was of him. He will always be my inspiration while serving our community. Thanks for listening. Steve

Steve, that was truely a big step to make. Yes I believe your son would be proud of your decision. I hope things work out for you and your family. Hold your memories close to your heart, walk with your head held high and pride in your step.
