You need to have an option in members profiles for them to delete their accounts. I don't see one but you really should have one.

Good answer.....No actually PLEASE delete my account. I am trying to avoid spending as much time on the internet as I have been. Yesterdays ranting just reminded me of that. So please do as I have asked. This site has been fun and you have a pretty good thing here. Please don't get me wrong. But I really have found that the computer in the home has taken my time away from more productive things and deleting my account will make that easier for me. Thank you.

I find the same thing some days where it just seems I can't pull myself away from this thing. Luckily my other half is pretty good at kicking my ass into gear so I get things done around the house. Rather than deleting your account and losing the 800+ posts you have (isn't 1000 the benchmark for a "regular"?) why not just un-plug your internet connection for the day?

I know that the g/f likes to make me lists and when I am done everything on the list for the day/weekend then I can spend the rest of the day doing what I want, be it tinkering with the car, puttering around the yard or playing on the computer.

I've had many people request to have their accounts deleted, and they all eventually came back. For this reason I never delete accounts (not to mention with 876 posts I'm sure we would be loosing out on at least 1 valuable post:p). So I've met you half way and changed your password in the forum. When you have some time to spare feel free to drop me a line an I will change it back.

To all of you that have left or gone on hiatus, I believe you should reconsider. This forum has suffered a great loss due to your departure. Personally I hate to see Bestcoast, BCFFV and ABFF37, leave. as a career firefighter they certainly helped give me a truly cross country perspective on things, especially at a career level.

We had great coverage from Sea to Sea and everywhere in between, BC and BCFFFV on the West to Smoke on the East and everyone in between. To those like JGallagher, I also believe you and every other POC and Volunteer on this site have provided a lot of information that has educated all of us. Let's let bygones be bygones.

Kriand has started a great thread just a couple above this one. Have a read, I'll bet you can all identify pretty much with what everyone has said. I, like everyone else probably spend too much time at the computer, but it's worth it for the many friends, new information and the fact that I hopefully helped others. You guys take a break if you need it, but please , let's see you back

I've been using message forum boards for about 10 years or so now.....and every one of them (motorcyle sites, hunting sites, sport sites, and FF sites) all have this exact same 'issue' happen every so often where someone says something and it gets a bunch of folks pissed off and a bunch quit/leave.

This is usually followed by a few of them starting their own 'new' site and a few others will jump on the band wagon and join that new site. After a month or two, the new site is a flop and almost every member of that site will come back and everything goes back to normal. It's the same old song and dance......give it time....and this will all pass as well.

In light of posts like this and others throughout the forum, as well as numerous PM's I have recieved, I have decided to return to this forum after a brief absence. I chose my words carefully with the whole "hiatus" thing...basically I needed a break to cool off...I'm glad that I did, and ultimately, I did this because I did not want to post something that I would later regret.

After a couple of days of thought it is clear that the pro's of this community far outweigh the cons. I have many friends here, and do really enjoy the information and conversation.

Thanks to everyone for the kind words over the last few days.
