Seeing as theres so many threads for discussing juniors, i figured there needs to be a place for juniors to talk to other juniors, tell about their halls and stories.

I did firecamp in QB a year ago and then joined our local firehall (dashwood) right afterwards. we get to go on calls but only with permission from an officer. it works great in our hall. i've been on calls from MVA's to fires and first responders. im definetly considering it as a career.

You just need to be closer to the station......Dam Zack!

AKA "Zackstrap" before last practice, you missed it, it was great!

We Zap Strapped his gear all over and then did gear up - timed runs, yeah he lost! "Happy Birthday Zack"! It was great!

Have fun a Fire Camp.

Well so far my junior expirences have been going to last year's firecamp also, and hanging out at my firehall even though i'm not in the FD yet. My department is small with around 20 members and 2 halls. I will be in it soon, just counting down the days till i am :D

I'm not sure I want to know the answer to this but.....

Does that mean you could conceivably find yourself incident commander at an actual emergency?

It could possibly, I stepped into the position at 17, been with the dept since I was 14, there are times when you have an aging group who doesn't want to take on the task, but I have IC'd one call since I became an Lt

I guess when your not old enough to drive a firetruck, you might might as well do something on the scene
