I was curious to know if all fire apparatus from a pumper to a 3/4 ton pick up truck used for forrestry firefighting had to be safetied every year.

I know for a fact that the pumper and tanker must be satified every year but the forrestry pick up truck is a different story nobody seems to be able to give us a direct answer.

The province in question is ONTARIO.

It a question of Liablity.

This is an off road vehicle that runs hard and fast. Not to mention a brush unit. I absolutly would have it done ever year. If something ever happens you have a strong maint and inspection record to back you up.

Any Fire / Emergency Response Vehicle should be inspected and Safety'd every single year.

If any one needs a Maintance and Inspection guide drop me a line and I can send you a program that will assit you with a top notch system.

Quincy.
We safety our Surburan every year when we safety our other trucks (Mar). It is mainly for liability concerns but also ensures that we maintain the vehicle properly.
We are in NorthWestern Ontario.
:D First post hope i did it right.

old post...but dug up from the grave.

It's considered a commercial vechicle... it needs a safety annualy.
