Here is a photo of Vancouver's 2 new SVI Custom Haz Mat's and Air & Light Support Unit recently delivered to VFRS by Safetek Emergency Vehicles.

Awesome rigs. Gotta love the Command Lights. Used ours on our last 2 scenes...afters years in the dark its nice to see the light.

They were delivered last Friday to VFRS and are currently being outfitted before being placed into service at Stations 3 & 10 and 18.

Very nice looking Rigs! It's about time the VFRS recieved some new apparatus! It would have been nice to have a little more red paint on these rigs.. There seems to be a lot of white paint, reflective stripping and aluminum (roll up doors) and not too much RED??
Someone tell me they'll be running Federals' eQ2b on these monster rigs and not some inadequate 100 watt electronic noise.

Those are good looking rides, anyone have a clue about the information end of things...
Engine displacement, type, height, length, number of cabinets etc.

Two Haz Mat units are supposed to be in service in early August @ Halls 3 & 10. I shot these this morning.

I saw the new Hazmat 10 being used at the clan lab in the 700 Powell St a few weeks ago. Its got a giant mast with a camera on top. Pretty sweet looking!

Have these units gone into service yet? I saw them at the BC Chief's Conference, but heard they are still being prepped??? What about the pumpers? I haven't seen or heard anything about them yet?

Aug 8th - Haz Mat 3 was placed in service, Haz Mat 10 will be going into service soon. As far as the Engines, 2 of them have been delivered (Engine 1 & 7) also heard the new Ladder 7 is either delivered or very close.

FYI Two of Vancouver's new Smeal Custom CAFS High Pressure Engines (E1 & E7) have arrived and being PDI'd and checked over and E7 is at Stn 10 for the start of EVO Training on Monday August 20th. As well one of the new Smeal 125 ft./38M Aerial Ladder Quints (L7) is here and being outfitted with equipment and L1 is due to arrive the week of August 20th.
They are all getting new ECOMM Radios, Data 911 MDT's, Repeaters as well as having GPS capability.
Shane time to get the Kodak ready for some pics for the Calendar and website etc.
