Just received word that our new Engine has left the Rosebauer Plant in Lyons, South Dakota and will be hitting the mountain this Saturday. Its running a bit behind, so it will be having to wait til after the delivery for its final inspection. It was sold to us by Rocky Mountain Phoenix, and will be presented Sunday at the Annual Community BBQ. Representatives from OFC, BCFS, RCMP and Regional Government Representatives as well as local MLA Bill Barisoff, the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly. There is rumour of a few more to attend the event but I cant confirm that at this point.
We ordered a Spartan Mountain Star 4x4 Custom Chassis
1050 Hale Pump
1000 Poly Tank
Max CAFS Unit
400 HP Cummins Diesel
Allison Automatic Transmission
The Truck was donated to the Firefighters Society by local development Regal Ridge
Anarchist Mountain FD is most widely known as a victim to multiple thefts including the theft of more than $100,000 in March 2005
Anarchist Mountain is looking forward to the release of this truck as it comes as a highlight of the Department's History, This weekend marks the 4 year anniversary of the Anarchist Mountain Fire of 2003, which ultimately led to the founding of this department in the months following

E42 has had some interesting times this year, but hey its engine 3 that is officially out, eng 42 will become secondary effective in about two weeks, AMFD's new engine arrives this afternoon
E42 used to give an awesome flame show out of the exhaust until it was fixed, i swear i could see 3 foot flames fly out, you guys at Parksville sure kept that truck looking nice

Very nice looking rig !! :congrats:
Are those preconnects directly behind the cab ?? How many ??
Is the pump panel enclosed in the cab, or is it a rear mount panel ??
We are starting the process to spec out a couple of new rigs, and
are always looking for innovative ideas.
Stay safe !!

Very cool, first time I've seen a Spartan 4x4, the raised bumper significantly increases the angle of approach! Should be great in the winter as well.

Those are Pre Connects right behind the cab, 2 of them to be exact and set up as CAFS lines which have roll out trays
The Truck is a rear mount pump with the controls on the far drivers compartment
This truck is Rosenbauer's first 4x4 with a 1000g tank

I love the short wheel base profile along with the 4X4 raised body! Very cool! Is the rear mounted pump the latest fad? I see Victoria's new Engines are also rear mounts.
You just need a bumper mounted Q siren to complete your new Engine!

It seems to me the Rear mount has really started to make an impact of Chiefs throughout the country, to the dismay of many manufacturers... Alot of work goes into building rear mounts

Hey, you lucky guys! I just saw your 4x4 Engine in the latest issue of "Fire Apparatus Journal". It was nice to also see Burnabys new apparatus and their IAFF Locals ALF Parade Engine. The back cover had a decent shot of an apparatus from the Okanagan..Their name has slipped my mind.. Sorry!
For those of you who are not familiar with this US publication and love Fire apparatus.. This magazine is printed on high quality paper in colour. It comes out Bi Monthly.
It's all about new and old apparatus, CFR and fire boats too. You can find them on line and you won't be disapointed if you subscribe!

Is it me or are departments out west more inclined to go with a shorter wheel base than here in Ontario?????
