I was wondering if anyone uses a leaf blower for grass fire it is a idea that in new around here and i think we are going to try it. If you have used one any tips on what works and does not work.

I agree, grass or leaf blowers are great for grass fires.

You are talking about setting them right?

We're still pretty old fashioned around here....and stick with the traditional old water....sometimes we get adventerous and will throw a wee bit of foam on them. :p

I'm curious though as to just how this would work......can you explain it more?

Well, first off, we are not thinnking of trying it...we are going to be trying it. Being that you (ff17) were at my shop yesterday looking at the blower we just bought, I figured you would know we going ahead with it...LOL! :p

I am hearing more and more about the use of blowers all the time. I have heard nothing but rave reviews of this. simple as it sounds...the blower we bought (princess auto cheapy..$79) puts out 150mph, basically you walk alongside the fire and blow it back into the burnt side, have another memeber follow behind with a waterpac or rake and finish off. From everything I have heard, you can move along quite fast with this method, and it is very effective.

Your right Fitzy...who would have thought to use air to put out a fire, I was sceptical as well...I guess we'll see soon. Fall harvest..just a matter of time eh.

They can't hear it over the sirens that we leave on 24/7....

Besides..the whipper snippers are way louder...hey...you got do a fire break somehow!

Will do, unfortunately...we can't take credit for it! It appears to be somewhat common out here, and as I said before...with rave reviews!

iamvff is right this is not something that we can tank credit for but I'am looking forward to trying it.
