Nice looking ladder.. Quint? What is happening with the nicer looking Tower ladder 7? Relocation?
What are the new apparatus running for sirens? All that extended front bumper and no Q siren?? What a shame!
If anyone wants to see TL7 running hot in downtown Vancouver check it out at youtube! There are a couple decent clips.

When Ladder 7 is placed into service, Tower 7 will become Tower 10 @ UBC. L10 will then relocate to L12, Q12 to Q3 and then L3 to L18....

Well, if that is the same Ladder 7 then it took only seven months to put it into service.
And I thought my department is slow *LOL*

It's got a beautiful new front Fascia.... I wish I had a Picture

is it Aerial 16 or Ladder 16?

Hey,
it is NOW "Ladder 16". All platform ladder trucks are called ladders now and are staffed by one officer, one driver/operator and two firefighters.
Aerials have only one officer and one driver/operator.

yeah I knew that I was just wondering if it ran with 2 or 4, just because there is room for 4 guys does not mean there is 4 guys on the truck. Listening to teamspeak it seems like 7 changes between aerial and ladder daily.

Pah, northside! They don't know what they are doing LOL
Well, I guess till we have all aerials replaced there is going to be some confusion as to how dispatch names the trucks. But I'm pretty sure when they call it an aerial it runs with a two man crew. This can happen when a ladder is out of service and they replace it with an aerial and an ATP.
Cheers,

When I'm in the city I live around station 16. I'm always looking in to see if that new ladder is there yet. Yesterday the lights were out at 6:30 am so I couldn't see. I haven't seen these rigs up close yet. What's the word around the city DIRK, are they working out pretty good ?

Hey,
I can't really say anything about them (positive or negative) because I haven't worked on one yet.
They are pretty big rigs and the turning radius is GIGANTIC but they helped a lot of guys to get hired because of the increase in manning on those ladders.

heard today on teamspeak that Aerial 8 is now Ladder 8 so I am guessing they got one of the new Smeals too. That only leaves 5 12 and 19 with Aerials correct?
