Looking for information on anyone using rescue hovercraft....the 4 seat ones...not the the huge beasties. We are looking for something for our river and lakes. Ice rescue and river patrols. Info on how often skirt segments are replaced. Any craft out their with motors other than 2-cycle. I am not a big fan of 2-cycle motors.

Thanks
Dave

you won't get many hovercrafts that are 4 stroke, they are mostly all use 2 stroke to save weight and they usually have more hp then a 4stroke., here in NFLD we have some search and rescue teams with hovercrafts.

try this link,

http://www.barachoissar.org/

they have a hovercraft, and if you e-mail them they will answer some questions,

the New Minas department here in Nova Scotia just invested in one last year but i don't think it gets much use. Sweet rig though!

We used three of these units in an undustrial setting on a large muddy pond. They are difficult to control, especially if it is windy. Imagne riding on an air hockey puck.
