In the largest rollout of military personnel in B.C. since the devastating Fraser River floods in 1948, more than 740 soldiers have been mobilized to fight forest fires in the southern Interior. Today, a 100-strong contingent from the Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry in Edmonton will be assigned to the troublesome Okanagan Mountain fire near Naramata, doubling the number of firefighters there.
