Im a Jr. in British Columbia, and im looking to work as a industrial firefighter when im 19, what are the qualifications?

Depends what you are looking for in industrial. You can have basic qualifications like first aid and get on with a safety company in Alberta. You need much more if you want to work for a career department in the oilsands. The oilsands in Fort McMurray have full time fire halls just like a city does. You are required to have at least your EMT and 1001 level 2, sometimes you can get in with just EMR. They usually require a lot more other courses like DG tech, 1006 but you can usually get by with out those.

Highly recommend EST (Emergency Services Technology) out of Fire-etc. in Vermilion as a starting point (we have hired several EST grads at Suncor Energy (Fort McMurray).

They normally want you to have your 1001's and a class 3 or class 1 drivers license. Having a 1081(I think that's the number) cert for oilfield helps, but not always required. OFA level 3 first aid is most often the one to have. Sometimes you can get on with a company with less qualifications as a helper on a crew. One of our new POC guys just got out of JIBC fire school a year ago and was hired into the industry. I think he might have been out on the rig fire we have going right now.
