In the world of B.C.'s forest fire fighters, this is "people season." Of the 59 fires burning in forests in the Lower Mainland and southern Vancouver Island this year, 58 are person-related, said B.C. fire information officer Donna MacPherson. Of the 464 fires to blaze through the woods across B.C. this year, 361 are believed to be person-related, while 103 were caused by lightning.
