In the spirit of Halloween, I'd like to know if anyone here knows of a ghost story relating to a fire hall. I have heard only one, but that's in the U.S. I do the odd bit of research into hauntings, so it would be fun to hear what you know.
You are never too old to have fun on Halloween.

I don't think it's a ghost story but-----------;)
Back b-4 my time, we had a chief who went home for lunch every day. To give the guys a heads up that he was returning to the station he would dial our internal emergency line and ring the bells once then hang up.Even today when the emerg bells go off with no one on the other end someone always sings out "o-kay Chief were going back to work now"!
Also the other guys won't admit it but on night shifts when everything is quiet you can sometimes hear footsteps or catch a movement out of the corner of your eye
It's o-kay by me because I know I'll be stopping by the station for coffee in a hundred years or so----lol----:D

I thought I would give this a thread a bump to see if any of the new members had any stories. I mean it was either that or start a new thread to see if Toronto was hiring :)

well i haven't heard of any specifc hauntings at my firehall although i would be surprised if there would be a few cuz they're old buildings. there has been a few pranks played by "unknown" members but i'm sure that happens at all halls. I do firmly believe in spirits so if i hear of any next time i talk to the chief or someone i'll post it on here :D

No firehalls that I know of in my department are haunted, however, a former firehall is said to have a couple of ghosts in it...
It's the old #3 firehall in Inglewood. Back in the past (near the turn of the century) the firefighters at #3 had a monkey as the mascot of the firehall. He was kept as a pet on a leash, and was a very popular mascot in the community. Unfortunately a dog attack was the end of him, and the firefighters of #3 burried the body of the monkey on the property of the firehall. From that point on, the ghost of the mischevious monkey is said to have haunted the hall!
Today the firehall has been converted to a restaurant called the House and Hound. It's filled with all kinds of CFD memoribilia. But it is said that the restaurant is still haunted by the ghost of the little monkey. He is known to throw things around in the kitchen, open and close doors, turn lights on and off and so on. From everything I hear he is a friendly ghost...just a cheeky little monkey out for some fun. Check out the link of a Canadian television show that did a segment on it once...

Don't know of any stories about haunted fire halls, but one of the best modern ghost stories I've ever heard was the one about the ghost of flight 401, It was an eastern ailines L-1011 that crashed in to the everglades, was deemed pilot eror due to the fact that everyone in the flight deck was totally preocupied by a landing gear light that had not illuminated for the landing( ya have to have 3 green to land safely) anyhow... shortly after the crash, they slavaged parts of the plane that were "non flight critical" and were in good enough shape to be reused on new L-1011's coming on line.. or could be used as spare parts. Apparently "apparitions" of the captian (Bob Loft) and the flight engineer (don repo) were showing up in either the lower galley or first class cabins of the airplanes where the salvaged parts had been used.. the F/E don repo apparently showed up the most, when he did he was some how aboe to communicate a warning about something wrong with the aircraft... and what's weird... he was right.. there is a book about it, as well as a couple of made for tv movies...
here's a link if anyone is interested...

is a cool story.. has some credibilty.. kinda sorta.... is all very well documented... Way back in my younger days I was a flight attendant, had a flight with a passenger who used to work for eastern as an aircraft engineer onboard, we got to talking, and the topic of the ghost story came up.. he told me some neat stuff about that time at eastern.... it sure made me wonder...

I've heard stories about #19 Hall in Vancouver being haunted......One of the captains swears he saw a ghost hovering above his bed one night years ago when he was younger.
