Solid program. Good instructors. Great practicum. Passed ACP with ease. No regrets.

I hear ESA has a great "Powerpoint on tape" study tool that essentially replaces instructors. Nice thing is you can have a celebrity of your choice read off the powerpoint slides for you while you sit at home in your underwear eating cheetos instead of in class. I found that Zsa Zsa Gabor added a little spice to A and P- though she wasn't as helpful teaching PCRs.

On the plus side, we had a really great instructor from Hobema and he impressed a bunch of us- sadly we only had him for one week out of 8. He was- quite literally -the only good thing I found in the entire program. I learned more from him in a week than I did the rest of the program.

I am not a fan of the school and wouldn't recommend it to anyone. I had high expectations considering its affiliation and was sourly disappointed. Don't fall for the whole "we're the best" chest pounding routine- just like every other school they have strong instructors and they have weak ones. They have decent practicum sites- and can take months, and months and months (and months) to set anything up... just like any other program... My point here isn't to be TOO harsh about ESA- they're probably no worse than any other program. The point I'm trying to make here is that they're no better either.

I'd highly recommend looking at other options. They're DEFINITELY not the only show in town. And don't think because they're suntanning in Strathcona Fire's glory that it makes them a better program. I think they lure a lot of people in that way- in fact, I suspect they depend on it.
