Just wondering if anyone has any experience with the ZOLL AED Plus AED. We currently have the FR2 on site and looking to swtich to the ZOLL unit. On paper and statiscally the Zoll seem to be the superior unit has anyone had any practical experience using these machines in the field and could provide any feedback.
Thank You

The reality is virtually all AED's work in fundamentally the same way. It mainly comes down to personal choice and local preference. I do like the Zoll AED plus it is very user friendly and extremely durable. Plus if you're located in Toronto alot of agencies there use Zoll, including Toronto Fire and Toronto EMS.

Just like Northernmedic said, they're virtually all the same. Basically comes down to cost vs. features. My department switched from the FR2's to the Zoll AED's because we're part of a study group that includes Peel EMS and Mississauga Fire, as well as other dept's in the GTA. I can't say as I have a preference for either.

Thanks for the feedback. I really like the "CPR real Help" feature. I got the chance to practice with the zoll during an AED class for one of our tenants and the machine told me to push harder. Being an exprienced EFR it kind of caught me by surprise but I tried to imagine what would happen to my staff who may respond to 1 medical a year if they are lucky ( we do to training every 3 months).
On the zoll website it says that the machine can be modified to suit your needs... IE it tells you to do CPR prior to AED in the event that you did not witness the colapse. Has your departments modified the zoll in anyway ir removed any of the items of the chain of survival or Real CPR Help?
