MAPLE RIDGE, BC - Wendy Methot has one hot idea. The Maple Ridge film maker and her creative partner have a TV show ready to pitch that combines two of the most popular things going today - firefighters and cooking shows. This tantalizing combination has prompted Methot to begin preliminary work on a show called Fire 'n the Kitchen. Here's the pitch. Take a show that's one part documentary by giving the viewers a first-hand look inside the day-to-day lives of professional firefighters as they go about their business in and outside the fire hall. Add to that a tasty look at the meals and recipes these brave people create while on shift. Then, spice it up with a few hunky firefighters preparing the dishes, all while real life inside the fire hall goes on behind them.

This has been sent to us by a new member of Firehall.com, WendyMethot who is one of the producers of the show "Fire 'n The Kitchen"
Regarding the article in the Maple Ridge Times about the fire fighter docu-reality show (yes, they cook, but that's not the absolute focus) I would like to make it known that there are some corrections that should be made to the information contained in that article.
1) The creator of the show is a fire fighter's wife, Brenda, who conceived of the idea almost 5 years ago. It was not myself, Wendy Methot, as per the article.
2) Firehall Productions is Brenda's registered incorporated company established to produce this series.
3) Although I am one of the producers on the project working out of my home office located in Maple Ridge, the actual program will be produced out of the Vancouver area.
4) It is very important to recognize that although our guest fire fighters will be personable and visually appealing to the our viewers we do not refer to them as "hunky" as stated in the article. The integrity of this program is very important to us and we have also agreed to the participating fire stations' requirement that they will be presented with respect and credibility.
Best regards,
Wendy Methot

Doggone, I HATE it when women just objectify me by referring to me as "hunky". Glad she cleared that up.
BTW, I think they said "hunky", and I know it wasn't chunky.;)
My kids think i'm kinda cute. or so they tell me on allowance day.

Both my wife &I are pro Chefs & think this is a great idea. We like cooking for the guys, but my wife thinks they should be called hunky.

For the Vancouver City guys. Wasn't there a Captain or LT who created his own BBQ cook book?
