I need to do up a letter of resignation for my Chief. This is not a easy letter to do. The reason for it is that I may be moving out of town for a job. What should I say in the letter?

The Job is what I have trained to do! A Correctional Officer!!

We've had a stream of guys out of our department that resigned for several different reasons. Just bad timing I guess.

All of their letters were as honest as it gets. They regretted having to resign, enjoyed the service along friends for how ever many years, and hoped to continue the friendships that were developed over the years. They obviously enjoyed each others company whether at social events or on a call. Just be honest and you'll be fine.
