Hello there,

Not sure if this is the place I am supposed to post this...............please contact me!

I have no idea if the official uniform is the same today as it was when my Dad was a DND fireman at Naden, Belmont Park, Rocky Point, etc. Dad, Bill Cunningham, just passed away and I have his formal blue double breasted suit with DND & Firefighters patches. And 4 - 5 of the official hats too!

Are these items that someone can use today?

If so, I would love to donate to someone. I hate to see them head off to a charity if they are still in use.

Dad retired in the 80's.

I also have a bunch of old photographs from his days working with DND Fire Department (even "study sessions!) if anyone is interested in them.

Just a long shot...........

Liz

Daughter and sister of passed on firemen! I love you all.

Firstly my condolences for the loss of your father. I have heard your fathers name come up at work recently from some of the senior officers I believe that they were discussing his recent passing. As for the pictures that you have, if you don't want to keep them I would try to get a hold of the DND FD and see if they would like them. Old pictures are common adornments on hall walls and I am sure that your father would like to know that those pictures would still be apart of the Dept that he served.

If you contact Ted Alexis through the Victoria Fire Dept. He is part of the Historical society and I'm sure would take great care of those items.

The Canadian firefighter museum in Port Hope Ont. could be a helpful place too...
