Recruitment lists

Any firehall menbers on waiting lists or recruitment lists right now.
If so where.

I have a friend who is on there 2002 list and he is still waiting something too do with a hiring freeze I think. I guess toronto's list's don't expire do they ?

I work for Toronto and there is no hiring freeze. A class started late this past summer and they are still doing training at the academy. They are coming on the rigs sometime this month.
Some of the people in this recruit class are from other support divisions such as Communications and Prevention.

They will have to do another class soon, we are always having retirement places to fill.

I keep hearing maybe December or January or April and maybe not even untill summer of next year. It's too bad there isn't more communication between human resources and those poor people waiting on the list. I don't think they realize how these people put their lives on hold waiting for that call. Receiving one letter a year telling them how far they are on the list isn't enough. But I've heard that once the day comes you forget about the long agonizing wait.


Cheers too that man they don't know how recruits feel on these lists and never will.

hey man just to let you guys know, when your on a list, your not offically hired YET, so really the HR dept doesnt give a rats ass about making you wait, believe me boys, t here are hundreds of other guys waitng to take your spot, if you dont like being on the list and "putting your life on hold" then find something else. Alls i can say is when your on the list, wait your turn, it will eventually come but dont start hounding HR dept about having to sit and wait

Seriously id kill to be on that list even if you have to wait 3 years. Would you wait 3 years for a lifetime dream job?

Hey I am totally greatfull for being on a list and I also know that there are 1000's of people out there who want to be in my shoes.
I guess you guys just misunderstand what staion 307 was saying
All he would like to see is maybe a letter semi- annually just too say hey not forgetting about you and current statis of what is going on. wouldn't hurt to send him one or any of those guys you don't agree with that at all.
