BRITT, ON - The Britt and Area Fire Department held its annual Christmas supper and dance on November 20 at the Britt Parish Hall.
A superb meal was served by the women from the Catholic church. Muskoka Roads provided the music to the delight of the crowd.
The highlight of the evening was Chief Larry Olds and dispatcher/firefighter Tom Semadeni getting their heads shaved by Sharon Gallagher. The duo had been taking pledges in the weeks prior to the dance and had raised $940.
The funds are going to breast cancer research, which hit close to home, as dispatcher Donna Prescott is now battling the disease.
