We at Firehall will never forget the happenings of 9/11, the senseless tragic loss of so many innocent people. We can only hope that it remains in the record books as the greatest loss of firefighters worldwide. Always to be remembered, never to be forgotten. They have paid the ultimate price and I can only hope it has helped make the world a better place. Rest in peace you brave souls!

You, like I, probably remember exactly where you were when you heard of the attack of 9/11. I was doing tech support for my other company. In fact I was on the phone with a woman in Alabama. Our conversation was interrupted by her screaming “we are being attacked.” It still gives me chills to think about her words. When I asked to clarify what she meant she said “they have just bombed the World Trade Center.” I got off the phone and rushed to the TV. Like so many more, I watched in horror. I remember thinking “we are going to war!”

I watched the news for just short of an hour. I was in shock, devastated, concerned, and dozens of other verbs. Then, like a robot, I went back to work. I know that is what I had to do. I know that is what we all had to do, but something did not, and still does not feel right about that. Don’t get me wrong, I know that not going back to work and just sitting there continuing to do nothing would have not been right either. Ultimately the verb I was most was helpless. All I could do is continue doing what I would normally do and that happened to be work.

Well I am still working, now exclusively with Firehall Online Inc. I hope this site has and will help is some small way, even if it is only as a community information site, and meeting place. I would like to take this moment to thank all firefighters and emergency personnel for doing their part in keeping us safe from harm.

Great post, sent chills down my spine!
We will never forget.
I just hope the war that we have invested in and lost so many soldiers over all makes scense someday.
As far as this website goes, hats off to you and your crew for helping each and every firefighter/wannabe out there. I am sure every person on here has got something from this site. Especially the info passed on from the veterans to the rookies and hopefulls. Thank you to everyone.
It is sad to say, but way to often we take alot of things/people for granted until something tragic happens. I wish you all the best.
