Firefighters signing calendars Friday

YORK REGION, ON - The firefighters of York Region launched their calendar in September and since have been busy attending hundreds of signing events and fundraisers all over York Region and Toronto. Organizers are close to selling out the 2005 calendar, which benefits breast cancer research, Southlake Regional Health Centre, York Central Hospital and Markham Stouffville Hospital. Calendars are available at La Vie en Rose throughout York Region, Toronto and the rest of the GTA, select York Region locations of Dominion grocery stores, Shoppers Drug Mart, East Side Mario's, Jack Astor's, Kelsey's, Fortino's and Longo's. Over the past three years, the firefighters of York Region have raised more than $200,000 with calendar sales and assisted with fundraisers helping to raise more than $500,000 for breast cancer research. You can get a signed copy Sunday and Thursday, Dec. 23, at Upper Canada Mall, Newmarket from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
