Has anyone here heard if the 60 new firefighters that Edmonton is set to hire will be off of the current waiting list or if they will be hiring 60 more?
I hear that these are new positions that are going to be created.
This will not include the ret. numbers. Possible 7 classes to be run in the new year, approx. 20/class. Hire list stands @about 108?.
Possible recruitment in the spring... get ready...EMR/class 3(air)/ACP cert.

millsy78 - If you're wondering where you stand on the list, don't be afraid to call Human Resources to find out. When I was waiting to hear when they were starting my class, I checked in every 2-3 weeks or so. I don't think they were annoyed in the least. I know I felt better.

I've been a firefighter in Brampton, ON for 3 years. Not sure if you thought I was in Edmonton. But to answer your question anyway, yes training went very well ... 14 weeks. Remember when you do start training, the instructors aren't there to fail you, they are there to help you get through everything and if you need help in certain areas, by all means, don't be afraid to ask for more help.
