I have started a county fire prevention program and was wondering if anyone out there has some good ideas for school visits and other events. I have started with: home fire safety, smoke alarms, extinguishers etc.... I am looking for a good website to order supplies and pamphlets. Also if you have ideas that have worked for you in the past let me know I would appreciate it.

I was in charge of the Fire Prevention program in my town for seven years. I have used the alberta emergency managment agency (formally the alberta fire commish) as a great resource. They have pampthlets and ideas. Here is their website http://www.aema.alberta.ca/pa_index.cfm. There information is free and they will send you published pampthlets when you ask for them but can print from the website.

I have also used the Ontrario Fire Marshall Office's but their products are at cost. http://www.firesafetycouncil.com/.

Risk watch is a good program and if you get the schools involved its even better. At one time when there was a concern of children playing with fire in my community I got intouch with someone by the name of Lynda Fraser at the Candian burn foundation http://www.canadianburnfoundation.org/ and with her and her presentation got through to the kids because her and her son were burned when he was playing with matches at a young age. I hope this helps.
