You think if your not home when they call, that they would leave a message on your answering machine? Or just move on to the next candidate on their list?

definetly leave a message
a 30 year career is worth the day or 2 wait forsure and im sure they know that.

Of course they'll leave a message.......it's not a radio station calling to see if you have " I listen to the Mississauga FD" on your answering machine.........and if you don't, then they move on. It's a busy time of year when a lot of people aren't home......besides, they probably have a skeleton staff themselves with everybody taking vacation this time of year.
That's the only thing I asked Santa Claus for this year........a career with Mississauga FD !! Ah, wouldn't that be nice sticking out of your stocking !!
Happy Christmas to everyone.
Yours in fire safety,

Don't know how everybody else did on the Mississauga CPS, but i have a feeling that the passing mark was kinda of low, or a lot of people failed or scored poorly, cause i scored a 77, which is ok i guess, a buddy of mine got 80, i think 2 guys on here Double Helix and Tom C got 81, so i thought the cut off would be either 70 or maybe 75%. But i just talk to buddy of mine who wrote the test and he scored a 69%. And he got the same letter as we did, about that they'll call before Jan 10 etc....I've written several tests, and they all have had a cut off of like 70% at least, which tells me either they had to lower the cut off scores cause of the majority people who either failed or scored low or maybe not too many people scored in the 90's or high 80's, then maybe (hope your reading this god!) guys like Double and Tom C who got good marks and maybe even high 70's like myself might have a shot. If anyone else has an opinion let me know. Merry Xmas and happy holidays by the way to everyone!

Yeah I don't know but if they use the regular 85% cut off for mississauga they are going to miss out on alot of good candidates. Good luck

a 70 will be a PASS. Whether they look at the screening pages for those above that is yet to be known. I think they should put the time in to review all those screening pages for anyone who passed. I think using marks is kind of stupid...I mean...say someone gets a few more questions right...big deal. They could be overlooking alot of very good candidates. And they were smart about those screening pages....that will save them from looking at the resume...maybe they should look through those and toss any that don't have a solid fire background, etc? Then again, they don't have much time. It wouldn't surprise me that those who receive interviews will only have a few days notice.
BEST of luck to all! And looking forward to London in January! Gonna nail that OS this time around!
Anyone know what shift is like in London? I hear they also have 24 hr shifts?
DoubleHelix

Yeah London does 1 day on, 1 day off, 1 day on and then 5 days off. All 24 hour shifts. I guess its good but its like being a part time firefighter.
