'Twas the night before Christmas', when all through the FIREHALL,
Not a creature was stirring, not even RED_DEVIL;
The stockings were hung by the HOSE RACK with care,
In hopes that ST. NICHOLAS soon would be there;
The FIREMEN AND FIREWOMEN were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of DREAM FIRE TRUCKS danced in their heads;
WITH SUE in her 'BALACLAVA, and KIRK in his cap,
they had just settled down for a long game of craps,
When out in the hall there arose a loud siren,
I sprang from the bed to see what the fire was.
Away to the window I flew like a flash,
Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.
The moon on the crest of the new-fallen snow
Gave the luster of mid-day to objects below,
When, what to my 20/40 eyes should appear,
But a OVER-TURNED SLEIGH, and A BUNCH OF SMASHED BEER,
With a little old driver, so lively and quick,
I knew in a moment it must be St. Nick.
More rapid than eagles, station 1, they did come
And they whistled, and shouted, save the beer man
"Now, JG! now, RD! now, TOXIC and SKIDZ!
go, BEST COAST! go HELIX! go, WANNABE and KID!
To the top of the trucks, and out of the hall!
They dash away quickly, to try and save all!"
"As dry roads permit, and GREEN LITES cleared the way,
the crew they did hustle, although some COULDN'T DON SCBA's
So up to the intersection the firefighters they flew,
uprighted the sleigh, and saved the beer too.
The Captain just smiled, his team they gave all!
And away they all flew, ready for the next call.
But I heard him exclaim, as he drove out of sight,
"MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL, AND TO ALL A GOOD-FIGHT."
BE HAPPY, BE SAFE, AND HAVE A GREAT NEW YEAR
SINCERELY,
