SHERBROOKE, QC - A former volunteer firefighter in Quebec's Eastern Townships has been sentenced to five years in prison for setting several fires that he later helped put out.
David Rouillard, 28, was convicted of lighting seven fires between 2002 and 2008, including one at a $250,000 ski lodge near Sherbrooke and another in a large residential building.
He has been in police custody since his arrest Nov. 15. The sentence will be reduced by the five months he has already served.
