Have a question.
We have leaks in our sprinkler system (industrial setting) . Does the person repairing these pipes need any certification, ior copuld he be any run of the mill plumber?

My 0.2 cents, I wouldn't hire a plumber to do any sprinkler work. You'll get better workmanship and quality going with a fire protection company that employs sprinkler fitters.

Alot of companies now are asking that whomever conducts their sprinkler work is a part of the sprinkler fitters union.

My company is just looking at saving the almighty dollar. They employ unionized plumbers and now want them to work on the suppresion system. According to NFPA 25 any "qualified" person can do work. Qualified is vague, therefore plumbers can, according to the guy with the wallet

Make sure that the repairs keep the system inline with the codes.
