IAFF Affiliates

Hey Guys,

I was recently doing a spring clean up around the hall and came across A certificate of Affliliation with the IAFF dated October 9th 1953. I was wondering if it's still possible to find out if we can reactivate this affiliation or have to start a new one? We are a full time deptartment with the D.N.D. I know other depts that are within the D.N.D have similiar affiliations with the IAFF. Any info would be great!

My understanding is yes, even if you haven't been active for some time you should be able to re-activate. The IAFF also never re-uses a local number, they just retire it if it is no longer used so you would still get back your old local number as well. I would contact the Canadian IAFF office for guidance. This is straight from iaff.org
