KELOWNA -- Cool, rainy weather is helping fire crews but the war in the woods is not over yet. "We want people to recognize that although this cool, damp weather has helped us, we still have a lot of potential for extreme fire behaviour . . . and we know that in this Thompson-Okanagan Valley things can dry out quite quickly," fire information officer Kevin Matuga said yesterday. Nor are authorities reducing the thousands of firefighters cutting firebreaks and digging out hotspots inside fire perimeters.
