Who makes your trucks?
In Edmonton this is what we have
some old Superior Pumps ( Late 80's )
some old Thibault Pumps ( Late 80's )
a couple old Pierceville pumps ( Late 80's )

5 - 10 E-One Pumps ( 94 )
12 Saulsbury Pumps ( 2003 )
1 Kennworth Aerial ( late 70's early 80's )
1 aerial from the late 70's that I dont know the maufacturer of from the late 70's its really low to the ground, the roof of the cab is about 5 feet from the ground so they call it "the skateboard"
1 Superior Aerial ( Late 80's )
3 Superior Aerials ( Mid 90's )
2 Pierce Quints ( 96 )
2 Smeal Quints ( 04 ) Not in service yet - will bump the kennworth and the skateboard out of service.
8 Internationl (Cab and Chassis)/Superior ( Fire truck part ) tankers (Late 80's)
3 International (Cab and Chassis)/ Superior (body) Rescues ( late 80's)
1 International/Superior Rescue (93)
2 International/Superior Rescues (96)

I didn't go there just to look at the trucks. I went to talk to the guys and ask about what I should do to help get hired. And I think me going to fire stations and getting info about the job and good things to do to help me get hired is better then me going out drinking or doing drugs or stupid shit like that. But seriously if you are just gonna jump on my back about everything I say, then shut up. I am just here to have fun and learn more about other departments.

Whatever. The only thing is all I ever see you doing is critizicing people. And I know that rookies get teased and shit in fire halls but I don't think thats all that happens to them.

There's more of it than you may think :)
Besides, there's a *good* side to teasing and practical jokes in the hall: It shows that by being a good sport about it, you're a team player - Who the heck wants to be on the line with someone who does nothing but complain - or spend five hours on a frozen river next to a porta-pump with someone with no sense of humour ?
Seriously, rather than whine at Red about his teasing you, give some thought to turning the joke around - much funnier for everyone that way :)
Try this:

You:
About as weird as running into a burning building when everyone is running out, eh ?

Nah, I'm not complaining at all - Given how stiff I was for a couple of days after the barn fire, it made me realize that there are some benefits to getting the quiet, low-action jobs :)

In Hamilton like most Amalgamated services, we have a large mix of apparatus. Most city trucks are ALF's and KME's. The rural Dept's are a mix of commercial freightliners and internationals, and a few custom pumps and ladders. The way Hamilton seems to be leading is all custom pumps ladders , tankers ETC. We have been buying Seagrave (almonte) and KME's. They will probably never buy another commercial Fire truck again. Commercials just don't seem to hold up to the down town punishment. Keep asking the questions Firefighterkid. thats how you decided to learn .

Nice looking rig Scuba, it's even RED, careful with that extended front bumper if you are not used to them, we bent a couple up when we first got ours.
