EDMONTON - Edmonton fire crews gathered Thursday to remember their dead, just days after an Alberta firefighter died en route to a blaze. Three hundred firefighters, police and ambulance staff, as well as honour guards and about 150 civilians, watched as wreaths were laid next to the former Fire Hall No. 1 in Old Strathcona, now the Walterdale Theatre. Thirteen city firefighters -- 12 of them retired -- have died in the past year.
