Freeport Fire Chief Paul Russer wears an ID band on his right wrist that bears the name of his late friend, New York Fire Department Battalion Commander Edward Geraghty. Geraghty was one of the 343 New York City firefighters who died trying to help victims of the World Trade Center terrorist attack two years ago. Everyone touched by the 9/11 tragedy carries at least one lasting image. For Russer, it's being at Geraghty's funeral.
