I have EFR, taking EMR and I know that if I want to go State side I can go EMT... but I am a POC FF in Ontario looking to go full time and wish to increase my value in medical terms. I do not wish to become a Paramedic at this time (That is most definitely a next step).

After I have my EMR what courses are there to take that is a further accreditation in Ontario above EMR?

Thanks in advance!

There is nothing further until PCP but you can take continuing education courses to increase your knowledge base. CPR Instructor and ITLS trauma courses are good. There are tons of one and two day courses around if you look in your local area/colleges as well as on line.

I couldn't give you specifics for Ontario, only for SW BC.

i have never heard of this but i heard people talking about ofa 3 with IV endorsement..
dunno if this is real or what but i guess you might be able to get an IV endorsement but i see no reason why or when you would use it/maintain it with emr protocols.
anyone heard of this?

No such thing as an OFA 3 with IV endorsement. EMR is allowed to maintain existing peripheral IV's (for transfer's etc).
