Anyone interested in a couple of good read..When I was down at the FDIC in INDY this past year one of the seminars was on FIre Command and Leadership.
The guy sitting next to me was a BATT CHIEF in NY. He has a great book...First in Last Out his name is John Salka.
I spoke to after for a while and he suggested another..To Sleep with The Angels by a man named COWAN. I got them both for X-mas and am enjoying both..

Salka's book on Leadership is an excellent read. Good for future reference as well.

If you want good information on Fire Command, and Command Safety, the books by Brunacini are excellent.

Thanks girl... I've looked them both up and I can get them at Chapter's, eventually (the first one if a pre-order, so it's not in yet). I have a fairly one track mind right now... hahaa. I actually just read a book called Firefighting. It's really just a coffee table book that I got for Christmas but it outlines the tools firefighters have used since the early Romans and goes through all the major fires over the years, briefly touching on some as far back as 640 AD, but it really starts to get into detail with the London fire of 1666. It's a pretty interersting read, not a whole lot of detail, more for enjoyment then anything.
