It's been a "dream season" for Saskatchewan's forest firefighters, a rare breed of workers who would rather not be busy. This year, they've had to beat back blazing bush just one-third the number of times they did during the 2002 summer. "There's absolutely no comparison. It's been a real dream season as far as fire management goes," said Forrest Pocha, duty officer at the Provincial Fire Centre in Prince Albert. There have been 247 fires in the province so far this year. Last year at this time, there were 679 while the five-year average is 463.
