Mayor Gérald Tremblay is rejecting a claim that Montreal firefighters would be getting almost double the 11.7-per-cent pay increase over five years that the city has offered its other unions. City council opposition leader Pierre Bourque charged at a council meeting on Monday night that firefighters would have a 10.1-per-cent seniority bonus over five years added to their pensions, on top of the pay hikes.
