questions for becoming a firemen

Ok right now I am 18, and dropped out of highschool, at grade 10. I heard that all u need to become a fighter is gr12 or equiv. so im gonna go for my GED which is equiv for grade 12. now do i need to go to college, what other steps are there?

If you read all the posts in both these areas you will know what it takes to become a firefighter well at least it will give you a taste and a point in the right direction.
