View Full Version : T.V Show: Fire Station
Do any of you watch it. It's on Court T.V every Friday. I personally enjoy watching it. It gives me a good idea of what firefighters encounter and do on the job. What are your thoughts?

I believe they only made 6 or 8 episodes. I think they were produced in around 2000-2001. I don't watch them anymore, but the show was good the first couple times watching it. They should've made more. Anybody hear if the girl got a position with TO?? I saw she made the list (I think) but wondered if she got on.

Hey BC ... would we see you on any of the footage? I occasionally tune in to that show, I hear references to Skid Row in 2's area all the time. :p

LT blondie sorry to disagree. She did get on T.O I saw her a couple of times before I left the city(EMS).So unless she moved, which could be very likely as she was not terribly well liked she is probably still there.
I know most of that crew on the show fairly well and when I made a comment to DC Hall about it, he turned about 8 shades of red and basically told me we dont like to talk about it.Not as politley though.

Only once colin911. The Camera guy was riding with us one night out of 3 hall and we had a pretty good house fire. But most of the time he rode along in 2's district where we have lot's of "Customers" to deal with.. ....BC......

My District Chief does remind me of the house Battalion on the show but, I was refering to the general disfunctioning personalites around station life...... ;)

I remember "the Bravest". I watched one episode on the NYFD, and Boston Fire. It was a good show, I hope they bring it back sometime. Gonna buy the DVD, but it only has like 2 episodes.

The Bravest was and is the best show depicting "real life" fire situations. Next would be bestcoast's "In the line of duty". These were on- scene shots of our brothers and sisters in action doing what we all face when the page or tone goes out. Toronto's Fire Station " wasn't bad but it was more station related than -on -scene. After all, how exciting can it get as you follow some-one trying to get hired. We watched several false alarms and other ho-hum stuff. It is not TO's firefighter's fault. they just didn't have a big one when TV was rolling or maybe it was filmed when the NDP was in office.
Recue Me, I watch whenever I can (I work shift-work) The station stuff seems accurate (lots of personalities that pull together to get it done) but I feel sorry for the messed up life Leary leads.
Take Care,BCFIRE

Hate to get everyone off topic but I was wondering.....Their used to be a show on TV called Fire Station. It was filmed at station 332 in Toronto, it was basically a look at the everyday life of a firefighter. I loved this show, I mean come on its fire stuff how can you go wrong with that?! anyway they cancelled it after 12 episodes for lack of interest (damn uninterested public! shaking fist...) anywho does anyone know if you can get these episodes on VHS or DVD, if not does anyone know when it is on. I havent seen it in months!

Off topic again. Has anyone ever seen sincity. You know the show where that wack job goes around the world and tries different sexual experiances out. Well he's got a new job. He now is going around the world trying out the most dangerous jobs in the world. He has been tot Columbia to be a cop and try to take down the drug lords, he has been a teacher in east LA at Compton, and he wanted to be a firefighter and work for Safety Boss in Red Deer. Because of all the middle east fires he had heard that Safety Boss were the go to guys. Well he went to them and they basically told them to take a hike. He then phoned the Alberta fire service and they reccomended that he can either go to Edmonton or Calgary to exreriance the rush and danger of being a firefighter. They highly, did I say highly, why yes I did, they highly reccomended Edmonton over Calgary (imagine that) because of our world class facility. So he came here and our instructors put him through some different evoloutions in our smoke house and flashover facilities, and then he got to spend a couple o nights downtown on pump 1. All in all a good experiance, and its suppose to be on tv some time in the new year.

One of our members brought his complete DVD set of 'Emergency' down to the station last Halloween night. The entire crew sat down to watch it on the bigscreen......what a blast it is watching them all now-a-days. :D

Not in the beginning... I'm not sure which season they started to focus more on police, I think the second last (not sure how many seasons the show was on), but it was almost equal fire and police with the EMT tossed in there in the beginning! I love that show!!

The 911 episodes are amazing. It has real interviews with emergency personnel and then a whole episode about after 911. I have it on tape but id imagine they put that on dvd.

Rescue 911 was a joke, you can't tell me that EVREY SINGLE episode turned out perfect. I only remember one episode where the person died. Will-iam Shat-ner, damn it some-one call 9-1-1(pauses like Willy does).
In the Line of Duty (Thanks to BC for the name) that was one of the best shows going, I believe you can still watch it on Court TV. It was good because it would be at the station right from the time of the page, hop in the apparatus, and off to the call, the whole way the captain would be explaing what was going on.
The Bravest was very much like In the Line of Duty. I distincly(sp?) watching an episode with Rescue 2, man what a busy unit!!
How many episodes are on the DVD again??
I think my most favorite show was "Paramedics" on TLC about 3-4 years ago. It was awesome, I don't know what else to say. I hope it comes to DVD.
There was a similar thread posted, about creating a Emergency Services Channel to subscribe to.
