I was wonering if anyone can answer my question. our department sent 3 packs away for service they had heads up display when sent out. They came back without heads up display. As a department we were told it cost to much to fix the packs and have them with the heads up display. Do they meet the standard now? NFPA 1981 someone help lol thanks

If the SCBA were built to 2007 edition of NFPA 1981, then they are now non-compliant with their HUD removed. The HUD is a requirement under NFPA 1981 2007 edition.*

On whose authority were the HUDs removed? If it was a vendor, I'd be lighting him up like Times Square. If the Department, then that's something you'll have to settle internally.

*My bad. The HUD is a requirement under 2007, but originated under 2002. So if they were manufactured after 2002 they're now non-compliant.
