Although on the flip side....anything to do with broken beer, snow, and killing mice seems to be very much accepted.

Greetings! I joined because I sometimes feel the need to discuss fire safety and local headlines. This may be due to PTSD or similar anxiety.
You see, in 1985 my house was 'arsoned' and we did not have a fire alarm in this old rented house and, as a result, my youngest child perished. The police have never charged anyone with this either. I suppose we will never know how this happened but I still feel irresponsible because I did not force this slum landlord to install a fire alarm system, which of course would have saved my little boy's life.
Maybe I should be posting in a different forum. Please note that I have noticed that Victims of fires never seem to get a chance to discuss how they feel about their losses (human or material). Many turn their backs, feel overwhelmed, ask why have you not dealt with this yet and blame.
It's tough being a victim :-(
Thank you kindly,
Heather
PS I will be posting about local headlines etc

Well hello there Heather...welcome to FIREHALL.
This site has a category for just about any topic that you will require....If you don't find what you like...the powers that be will probably create it for you if you talk really nice to them, and usually sending in a box of chocolates goes over well to. (Contrary to what they say...bribery may work here;) )
If I may suggest, there is a link for your concerns, It would be under "STRESS AND EMOTIONAL WELLNESS". Just a word of warning...You may see some negative comments to any posts on this forum, but for the most part, from what I've seen, the positive responses far outway the negative, and hopefully will be of some assistance to/for you! Just remember everyone has different ways of dealing with their issues.
If nothing else...I can guarantee you will get a chuckle, or at least a smile, out of some of the posts on this site!!
Have a great day,
Sincerely
iamvff
