A wildfire that broke out near homes five kilometres south of Peachland Thursday highlights just how serious the fire risk remains in the Central Okanagan, say fire officials. "It's still extreme," said B.C. Forest Service fire information officer Dave Hall. "If you dropped a match into the grass, it would burn." Although officials aren't sure how the fire started early Thursday afternoon, they suspect it was caused by a human. They do know that it began in dry grass and quickly spread to cover five hectares.
