Does anybody know what Lambton college does for a fitness test? all i can find is humber and seneca's tests at York and Brock. And is the CPAT preperation course the way to go when preparing before going to school?

roughly this is the Pre-service fitness test, these would be "perfect scores"
35 pushups
50 situps in 1 minute
2.4km run in under 10
beep test to 9
reach/flex test
then you have a job performance test... numbers might be a bit off its been a couple years lol.

I can't speak to Lambton specifically but since you asked about the CPAT I will give my input on that.
If you are in reasonably good shape (fit and active a few times a week) you should not have any problems with the CPAT. To give you an idea I run, play hockey and do martial arts every week and I finished the CPAT with just under 3 minutes to spare. It's not an overly strenuous test and if you are already fairly active the best advice I can give you is to make sure you have eaten well the night before, are well rested and well hydrated. Little things like that make a big difference in how you will feel.
As for the CPAT preparation course - I'm assuming that means CPAT orientation where you can go view the stations and try the course a few times, I would recommend it. I did it a week before my first CPAT just to ensure I was familiar with which direction to walk after each station, etc. so I would not make any errors. Having that experience under your belt definitely makes everything seem much easier.
All the best

For conestoga our fitness class, the fitness testing included doing a mock CPAT and YORK testing, then we did a 1.5 mile run perfect score was under 9 minutes but you passed getting under 11.
If your already in a workout routine you will do fine. I was one of the smaller guys in my class and i managed with everything. They try to kick your ass with some cardio and stuff during the class pretty much with the class alone most people pass.
Hope that helps
