Hello,

I have been intrested in becoming a paramedic. I am 28 from toronto and was looking into colleges that have PCP program. I am working full time in hospitality (hotel) at the moment.

1) Are there any colleges that offer part-time courses in toronto or near-by?

I was looking at centennial and they dont offer part-time.

2) Needed advice/opinions : Can someone work full time night shift and still be able to do the PCP program? I understand this depends on individual, but how hard is the course does it take up most of the day for the entire 2 college years?(cant afford to work part-time for next 2years) or maybe first year might be OK and 2nd year it would be very hard as the courses get tougher?

3) Are there any colleges that have 1 year program condensed?

Hi

1) Are there any colleges that offer part-time courses in toronto or near-by?
No, not in Toronto/GTA.

It's going to be very difficult for someone who works full time and doing the program. In addition to going to classes, you have to practice your scenarios with other classmates, studying, homework, reading, practicing oral boards and doing your co-op. At the minimum, you can work part-time, but I understand that you cannot do that in your situation.

Well I can't say if the courses gets harder as each semester goes on since diffferent schools work differently.

It is humanly possible to work full time and do a paramedic program full time but you will probably spending money at the end to treat for exhaustion! My opinion - don't work full time and do the program.

CTS Canadian Career College, Ontario Health and Technology, Canadian Theraputic College and Trillium College (I think they are brand new) all offer the program under 1.5 years. However, tuition is a lot since their private.
