Well, I've just completed my sp-100 (soon the prefit as well) and am very intent on getting on a fire base. So far I have been calling, faxing; and in general harassing every fire base in Eastern Ontario. I haven't made repetitive calls to any fire bases yet, but I'm wondering is if I'm going about getting the job in the right manner? any tips that people have? I just kinda feel odd calling all of these recruiters and trying to get my name in there. I have yet to hit up Western Ontario and want to make I'm on the right track.

I'm kinda feeling the same weird way with harassing the Ontario bases. How did it go for you?

Sure, leave a message. If they don't call back within a few days, then call them back.

Its the perfect time to call and see where they are in the hiring process.. Our re-call letters (for Ontario) were due yesterday. So the boss man/lady should have an idea as to weather they need to hire more people. Good Luck!

They should have an idea by now. The recall letters for my base were due back at the end of February. Less than 3 weeks until the 2011 fire season!
