Look at the balance sheet long enough and all of a sudden you're hearing the voice of your Grade 7 math teacher in your head: If a ladder truck carrying four firefighters enjoying a salary increase of 11.7 per cent over five years leaves the St. Léonard firehouse at 40 kilometres per hour, and a pumper truck carrying four first responders getting the same raise in salary leaves the Pointe Claire firehouse at 60 kilometres per hour, how long will it take before they are earning 19 per cent more than they were in 2001?
