Hey I came from out east as well, did my training at Holland then worked in NB. The move was simple, didnt like making half the wage of someone else doing the exact same job. Ive posted a lot on the AIT process on earlier posts, as for the test its big on the patho. Basically for the bulk of it you'll receive a scenario, and then questions will be asked as the story progresses focussing on the issue your patient is having, cancer, renal failure, hypoglycemia etc. The test is multiple choice and from what I remember most of the answers were of the stupid variety like the format below...
a. answer 1
b. answer 2
c. answer 3
d answer 4
e. a and b
f. a, c and d
g, all the above
i remember for most of the answers though, you could eliminate 1 or 2 answers right off the top which would leave you with two you had to choose from, giving you a 50/50 chance on most. Before I wrote the test I found out what books the Ontario colleges were using and reviewed most of these, the big difference I found from my school was the depth of patho that the ontario schools go into. If there was one area you had to focus on (besides the protocols obviously) it would be this. Good Luck, trust me its worth the effort.
