can any one tell me if there are any regulation on shore based ice/water rescue in ontario. mainly the distance you can go from the shore to your patient on the ice, are alluminum csrabiners allowed by the fire marshall to be used for ice/water rescue or do i have to switch to steel???bv

With regards to you questions, I don't think that there is a limit to the distance, however, common sense would tell you that you wouldn't want to carry and pay out a kilometre of safety line.
