LANGLEY, BC - Police and residents of a Langley neighbourhood are afraid an arsonist is on the loose after four families were burned out of their homes early Sunday morning.
The blaze that sent a number of people in the Amberleigh townhouse complex, in the 20400-block 66th Avenue, running for their lives was the culmination of 10 separate fires lit in a radius of several blocks within 60 minutes.
Investigators haven't connected the other nine dumpster fires -- which happened in the 66th Avenue and 204th Street area -- to the "suspicious" townhouse blaze, but are probing whether a single firebug is at work, said RCMP Sgt. Don Davidson.
